Futures Vision Bus Tours 2008

First Futures Vision Tour

As this was my first experience of the Futures Vision, I was unsure what to expect. However, I can honestly say that the northern tour visits have provided me with a profound lasting memory of schools demonstrating caring and genuine concern for the children, neighbouring schools, and the community surrounding them.

Resulting in best practice of community integration, from five exemplary schools between Rochdale, Telford and Blackpool, being shared with around 80 representatives from schools, government offices and departments, and private sector businesses that travelled from all over the UK to participate on the tour

I also have to applaud the SSAT members who organised an excellently managed tour throughout the whole three days.

I wish you all every success in the future.

Kindest regards

Fantastic…says QGP

These will prove to be best two weeks that a new busisness partner with the Trust has spent in schools for a very long time. The children have been fantastic hopes for tomorrow and their teachers are delivering teaching and learning that gives all a bright hope for the future.

Beacon Hill

Again we experienced the massive contribution being made to the education of young people by ‘associate’ teachers, such as the superb gardener/allotment manager with his vision for developing sustainable skills.

Hairdressing salon at Beacon Hill

Being a Business and Enterprise College has allowed Beacon Hill to develop a unique group of facilities for the local community. This salon not only offers training opportunities for students but also offers hair styling to the local community.

Inspirational - Beacon Hill

We saw wonderful examples of partnerships and imaginative ways of overcoming student transience. Business and Enterprise specialism has made a real difference. The hair salon is an excellent example.

Newall Green

There are so many positive things that we are taking away from both the evening and morning visits to Newall Green. I was impressed and moved by the genuine involvement and enthusiasm of the students, the staff, the parents and the business community. The parents who are learning mentors are key to the family support, to effective transition from primary schools and to giving all parents the confidence to come into school for help when they need it. The 3-day residentials for the whole school at the start of each school year were described by students as real life changing experiences.
Many thanks for sharing these and many other things with us.

Hadley, Rivington and Blackrod

Totally wowed by the Hadley build and the all age concept. Loved the
kids at r and b, they were so positive and honest. Superb media
resources, I am jealous!

Enjoying some thought provoking conversations on the coach too,
interesting as this was the bit i was dreading most- I hate long coach
journeys, but these have flown by.

Rivington and Blackrod

Power Wave Two exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit of the school and its successful relations with the business community. The Diploma students we met were highly motivated.
